Ellen Barkin is one rich biatch

Ellen Barkin auctioned her wedding ring from her failed marriage to Revlon billionaire Ron Perelman. The ring was just one of nearly a hundred other jewelry pieces that earned her a total of $20.3 million at auction.

The ring, a wide band set with four rows of bell-cut diamonds topped in 18-carat gold raked in $130,000 surpassing a presale estimate of $50,000. The auction of her jewels was held at a Christie's sales room Tuesday evening. The auction house however did not disclose the name of the buyer of the symbol of matrimony.

The other 103 pieces ranged from period jewels and gemstones, including a 22.76-carat diamond ring created by the 20th century American designer JAR that was purchased by a private American collector for $1.8 million, making it the highest priced item of the night.

The AP quotes Christie's as saying that Barking was "thrilled" with the money she collected from the sale, which was held in its largest sales room. "It was a packed room, and a packed, packed phone bank," Christie's said.

Rahul Kadakia, head of Christie's jewelry department, said in a statement that the $20.3 million total "makes Ellen Barkin's collection the highest single-owner jewelry sale of the past 15 years in the U.S. and also places it among the top four ever worldwide." The prices of all the sales include the auction house's commission.
