Donald Trump Slams Jerry Seinfeld Over Benefit Gig Cancellation

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- "Celebrity Apprentice" star and possible Presidential candidate Donald Trump is sounding off on Jerry Seinfeld after the comedian pulled out of a charity benefit hosted by Donald Trump's son, Eric.
"I just learned that you canceled a show for my son's charity," Trump wrote in a letter -- obtained by Access Hollywood -- to Seinfeld on Wednesday, "because of the fact that you think I am being very aggressive with respect to President Obama, who is doing an absolutely terrible job as our leader."
"We don't care that you broke your commitment," Trump continued, "even though the children of St. Jude are very disappointed, and despite the fact that your manager clearly stated you are 'truly a man of his word.' Bret Michaels, disgusted by what happened, is taking over."
Trump also took the opportunity to take aim at the comedian's latest TV venture.
"What I do feel badly about is that I agreed to do, and did, your failed show, 'The Marriage Ref,' even though I thought it was absolutely terrible and was embarrassed after having watched the first couple of episodes," Trump wrote in the heated letter. "Despite its poor ratings, I didn't cancel on you like you canceled on my son and St. Jude. I only wish I did. You should be ashamed of yourself!"
According to The New York Post, the comedian agreed to perform at the event in January, prior to Trump toying with a bid for The White House.
A rep for Seinfeld told the Post, "Jerry has grown increasingly uncomfortable" with Trump's questioning Obama's citizenship. Jerry... feels this kind of demagoguery has no place in public discourse . . . He has respectfully withdrawn from the event, and is making a contribution both to the Eric Trump Foundation and to [St. Jude]."
