Celebrity sibling jealousy

Celebrity family life is not always as picture perfect as it may seem, especially when we talk about famous celebrity siblings. Celebrity siblings are usually talented, beautiful, popular and competitive as competition is something they know really well as sibling rivalry is what they have to deal with for their entire lives.
These examples of celebrity sibling rivalry are here to prove my point.

The Kardashian sisters

Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian are probably the most famous siblings on reality TV. They have their show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, they co-own DASH stores, they try their hand at perfume business, and they have lucrative endorsement deals.
Even though it seems that everyone is happy, it’s not so. The sisters constantly compete with each other – Khloe is the first to get happily married, Kourtney is the first to have a baby, Kim is the highest-earning reality TV star, and Kim and Kourtney are better known as the pretty Kardashians while Khloe is the “ugly and fat” sister.
Sister rivalry? Hell, yeah!
Kate and Pippa Middleton

Kate Middleton is now known as Catherine the Dutchess of Cambridge, and her younger sister Pippa Middleton has become an overnight media sensation and favorite royalty. Reports claim, these royal sisters are really well aware of sibling rivalry sometimes taking it to the extremes of ridiculousness.
According to sources close to the girls, Kate and Pippa rival in everything including such crazy things as who has the worst headache or period pain. And of course, they used to fight over guys as none of them noticed Kate cause Pippa was always the center of attention.
There is a healthy competition between the two,” royal correspondent Katie Nicholl said. “Certainly when it comes to looks, like who is the slimmest or better looking, there is a little friendly rivalry.”

Beyonce and Solange Knowles

It goes without saying, Beyonce is so much more popular than her lil sister Solange Knowles. Beyonce is one of the richest and most influential celebrities in the world, as well as a talented singer, songwriter, actress, designer and model.
Who’s Solange? Solange Knowles is also a singer but she lags far behind her sister when it comes to acclaim and fame.
I get asked about Beyonce all the time and I make fun of it,” Solange Knowles said about their sibling rivalry. “Sometimes I say she’s not my sister. Other times I say I stuffed her in my suitcase and sent it to Dubai. I have to have fun with it or I’ll turn into Britney – shave my head and go totally crazy.”
Serena and Venus Williams

These sisters usually take their rivalry to the court, to the tennis court. Both sisters are tennis champs been ranked the World No. 1 at some point of their respective careers. Even though their sibling rivalry is obvious, they somehow manage to remain on friendly sister terms and always go watch each other’s games.

Penelope and Monica Cruz

I sometimes think Penelope and Monica are twins as they look so much alike. Both Cruz sisters are actresses, though it’s only Penelope who can be called a world famous Hollywood actress. Also, the sisters are designers and models for Mango.
Though they have a lot in common, Monica says they’re very different:
We are all individuals. Penelope was hyperactive, she didn’t sleep or eat and I was always the calm child. I was the good girl at least until I was 16 or 17!”
Kylie and Dannii Minogue

Though Kylie Minogue is a world-famous singer, it’s her younger sister Dannii who first shot to fame in their native Australia. Both sisters have been in showbusiness for over 20 years but Kylie has always enjoyed more spotlight than her sister. However, as soon as Dannii Minogue got invited to co-judge on Britain’s X Factor she became a star of her own. And Kylie was the first to feel happy for her sister as it meant the end of the long-term rivalry between the two.
I would feel quite guilty sometimes although there was no reason to feel that,” Kylie Minogue once confessed. “And I know the last thing she would ever want me to feel is bad. I always knew her time would come.”
The Olsen sisters

I’m not sure there has ever been sibling rivalry between the twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as their being always together is what has always made them unique. Now the sisters are going their separate career ways with one focusing on acting, and the other on fashion and designing, so there’s no rivalry here.
However, the Olsen twins are not the only children in the Olsen family. They have younger brother James and sister Elizabeth. Elizabeth is an aspiring actress, and I’m sure it’s due to sibling rivalry that she decided to try her hand at acting in the first place.

Jessica and Ashlee Simpson

Jessica and Ashlee insist there’s no rivalry between them.
Jessie and I don’t have that because we’re sisters,” Ashlee Simpson explained. “We’ve got to be there for each other. We can have the other people we’re competitive with, but not each other.”
Though they deny any competition, I’m not buying it. Here’s why. Jessica Simpson was the first to shoot to fame, to get married, and star in a movie. Seeing her sister’s success Ashlee also launched her music career, played in Chicago on Broadway, guest-starred on Melrose Place, got married and had a child. So do you still think Jessica’s life has never influenced Ashlee’s decisions?

Julia and Eric Roberts

Though Eric Roberts was the first to become an actor, it’s his younger sister Julia Roberts that managed to become the best paid actress in Hollywood and all America’s sweetheart with several Oscar nominees and an Oscar won for her role in Erin Brockovich.
It’s obvious Julia is way more popular than her older brother who introduced her to Hollywood. Besides, looks like Eric’s daughter Emma Roberts is already way more popular than her dad.

Liam and Noel Gallagher

Sibling rivalry is so bitter between the two brothers that they barely speak to each other. Liam and Noel have never tried to hide their feuds from the public eye. Besides, this stupid rivalry has often negatively affected their careers as it made them cancer Oasis gigs and even take breaks from performing.
Now as Oasis is history, we don’t hear much about the brothers. But it doesn’t mean the rivalry is over.
